DECOMA’s skilled professionals prioritize safety and precision at every step, ensuring that all installations and repairs meet local building codes and industry standards. By integrating modern technology and materials, the electrical work performed enhances not only the functionality of the home but also its overall value and longevity.

What you get

Everything we deliver.

  • 01

    Whole-home load assessment

We measure your existing panel, document circuit loads, and identify what your home actually needs before recommending an upgrade. No oversized panel pitches.

  • 02

    Service & panel upgrades

100A, 200A, and 400A residential panel replacements with utility coordination, permit, and final inspection. Most South Bay homes built before 1985 need this.

  • 03

New circuits for kitchens, ADUs & home gyms

Dedicated circuits for ranges, ovens, EV chargers, hot tubs, ADUs, and sub-panels for garages and detached spaces. Code-compliant rough and finish.

  • 04

Recessed lighting, fixture install & smart switches

Recessed LED retrofits, fixture replacements, dimmer and smart-switch upgrades. We handle the design conversation — light layers, color temp, scene control.

  • 05

    EV charger & solar interconnect

Level 2 home EV charger installs (Tesla, NEMA 14-50, J-1772) with the sub-panel and conduit run to support it. Solar interconnect when you're ready to add PV.

How we run it

Scope to sign-off.

  1. 01

    Home walk-through

Licensed electrician at your house to look at the panel, identify the work, and answer questions. No charge for the consultation on whole-home projects.

  2. 02

    Scope & permit

Itemized scope with material spec and a real number, then the permit package filed with your AHJ (LA County, Manhattan Beach, Torrance, etc.).

  3. 03

    In-house install

Our licensed electricians do the work. Drop cloths, daily clean-up, and a respect for the home you live in.

  4. 04

    Inspect, test, hand off

Final inspection signed, breakers labeled clearly, walk-through with you so you know what's on every circuit.

FAQ

Common questions.

How long does a residential panel upgrade take?
Most 100A → 200A upgrades on a single-family home in the South Bay are 1–2 days on-site after the permit clears. The utility (LADWP or SCE) typically takes 1–3 weeks to schedule the disconnect/reconnect, which is the longest part of the timeline.
Do I need an electrical permit for home electrical work?
Yes — every California city requires a permit for panel work, sub-panel installation, new circuits, EV chargers, hot tub circuits, and any work involving the service line. We pull the permit as part of the scope so you don't have to.
Can you install a Tesla wall connector or NEMA 14-50 outlet for an EV?
Yes. We've installed hundreds of home EV chargers across Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Palos Verdes, and the South Bay. The choice between Wall Connector vs. NEMA 14-50 depends on your panel capacity, garage layout, and whether you want load-sharing — we'll spec what's right for your home.
My breakers keep tripping — does that mean I need a new panel?
Usually not. Frequent tripping is more often a circuit overload (too many devices on one circuit) or a failing breaker. We diagnose before we recommend the panel upgrade. If you have a Federal Pacific (FPE) Stab-Lok or Zinsco panel, those should be replaced for safety — we see them often in 1960s–70s South Bay homes.
Do you work on older Spanish-style or Craftsman homes?
Yes, and we know what to expect — knob-and-tube wiring, undersized service, and tight conduit runs through plaster walls. We've rewired dozens of Palos Verdes, San Pedro, and Manhattan Beach Spanish revivals without tearing them apart.
Are your electricians licensed?
Yes. DECOMA holds CSLB Class A and B license #375508, and our residential electrical work is performed by California C-10 licensed electricians on our team. Bonded and insured for every job.
