What you get

Everything we deliver.

  • 01

    Subfloor prep & leveling

Tear-up of existing floors, sub-floor inspection, repair of soft spots, and self-leveling compound where the floor's out of plane. Most renovations need this; most contractors skip it.

  • 02

    Hardwood & engineered wood

Solid oak, walnut, hickory, and maple. Engineered planks for slab installs or moisture-prone areas. Site-finished or pre-finished — we'll tell you which makes sense for your home.

  • 03

    Tile, stone & polished concrete

Porcelain, marble, travertine, and natural stone with proper crack-isolation membrane (Ditra, Kerdi-Board) and Schluter edge detail. Polished concrete for modern coastal homes.

  • 04

Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) & waterproof flooring

Premium LVP with 20-mil+ wear layers — the right product for kitchens, baths, and homes with kids and dogs. We won't sell you the cheap stuff that fails in two years.

  • 05

Custom inlay, transitions & stair treads

Borders, medallions, matched wood transitions between rooms, and custom hardwood stair treads. The detail work that turns a floor into a feature.

How we run it

Scope to sign-off.

  1. 01

    Sample & spec

Site visit, take-off measurements, and product samples brought to your home so you can see the floor in your light, against your walls.

  2. 02

    Prep the subfloor

Demo of existing floors, dust containment, subfloor repair and leveling. Moisture-test slabs in older South Bay homes (we find issues regularly).

  3. 03

    Install

Acclimate material in your home for the manufacturer's required period, then install by trained crew. Care taken with cabinetry, baseboard, and adjacent walls.

  4. 04

    Finish & sign-off

Transitions, baseboards, and stair noses installed clean. Walk the floor with you in the room's lighting, fix anything that catches the eye, leave touch-up materials and the manufacturer warranty.

FAQ

Common questions.

How do you choose between hardwood, engineered, LVP, and tile?
Hardwood: solid, refinishable, premium look for bedrooms and living areas. Engineered: best for slab installs and beach-air humidity. LVP: best for kitchens, baths, and laundry. Tile: best for showers, entryways, and heated floors. We walk through each room and recommend by use — not by what's on sale.
Can you refinish my existing hardwood floors?
Yes. Sand, stain, and finish. We can also recoat (no sanding) for floors that just need a refresh. Most South Bay 1950s–70s oak floors are still refinishable — we've brought back hundreds in Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, and Palos Verdes Estates.
How long does a flooring install take in a single-family home?
1,000 sq ft of LVP or carpet: 2–3 days. Same area in hardwood: 4–6 days plus 24–48 hours for the finish to cure. Whole-house tile: 1–2 weeks. We work continuously — never abandon a site mid-job.
Will the install be disruptive? Can we live in the house?
You can stay. We seal off the room being worked on, control dust with HEPA filters and plastic, and clean up daily. Most homeowners stay in the house during single-room installs. For whole-house, we phase the work to leave you a usable bedroom and bath.
Do you handle floors on hillside or sloped lots common in Palos Verdes?
Yes — hillside South Bay homes often have moisture, subfloor settlement, and slab cracking issues that affect flooring. We've installed floors in dozens of Palos Verdes hillside homes and know what to test for before we put a floor over a problem.
What's the warranty on residential flooring?
Two-year workmanship warranty from DECOMA, plus the manufacturer's product warranty (25 years on premium hardwood, 15–25 years on LVP, lifetime on most tile). We register every install and handle warranty claims through us.
