Efficient Solar Energy Solutions for Homes

Harnessing solar energy at home is a powerful way to reduce energy costs and move toward sustainable living. DECOMA Industries specializes in the installation of residential solar systems, integrating renewable energy solutions seamlessly into the home’s electrical infrastructure. Each project is approached with a detailed understanding of the property’s energy requirements and layout, ensuring that solar panels are positioned for maximum efficiency. Homeowners can benefit from the installation of solar systems that not only reduce dependency on the grid but also contribute to long-term savings on energy bills. Additionally, solar installations can increase the home’s value by offering an eco-friendly and efficient energy source.

Sustainable Solar Installations for Long-Term Savings

From the initial assessment of the home’s energy needs to the final integration of solar technology, each step is carried out with precision. Every component, from the panels to the inverters, is chosen to optimize energy output and long-term reliability. Whether homeowners are looking to supplement their energy use or transition entirely to solar power, DECOMA handles the process with a focus on quality and sustainability. The installed systems are designed to be scalable, allowing for future expansions as energy needs grow, making solar energy a flexible and future-proof solution.

What you get

Everything we deliver.

  • 01

    Roof inspection & system sizing

We check your roof's age and condition first — never install over a roof with less than 10 years of life left. System sized to your actual annual usage, not a sales target.

  • 02

    PV system design & permit

Custom layout for your roof's orientation and shading, structural sign-off, full permit package filed with your AHJ (LA County, Manhattan Beach, Torrance, etc.).

  • 03

    Battery storage & EV integration

Tesla Powerwall 3, Enphase IQ Battery, or Franklin aPower. Sized for whole-home backup if you want it. EV charger integration so your car charges off the panels.

  • 04

    NEM 3.0 interconnect with utility

Full LADWP or SCE interconnect application, utility coordination, and witness-test scheduling. You sign once; we handle the rest.

  • 05

    Monitoring & 25-year warranty

Monitoring app set up in your name, manufacturer warranties (25-30 years on panels, 10-25 years on inverters) registered to you, DECOMA's 10-year workmanship warranty.

How we run it

Scope to sign-off.

  1. 01

    Site visit & proposal

Walk your roof, check the electrical panel, model your shading, pull 12 months of usage from your utility. Real ROI math, not a per-watt brochure number.

  2. 02

    Design & permit

Engineered design, structural calcs, permit package. We pull the permit; you don't see a city counter.

  3. 03

    Install

Most residential installs are 1-3 days on-site. We protect your roof, your landscaping, and your driveway. Daily clean-up; the property looks like we were never there.

  4. 04

    Inspect, interconnect, PTO

City inspection, utility witness test, permission-to-operate. Monitoring goes live. We walk you through the app so you can actually see your production.

FAQ

Common questions.

Is residential solar still worth it under NEM 3.0?
Yes — but the answer is different than it was. Under NEM 3.0 export credits dropped sharply, which means most new residential systems now include battery storage to maximize self-consumption. Typical payback in the South Bay is now 7-10 years instead of 5-7, with 15-20 years of payback-free production after.
Should I add a battery to my solar system?
Almost always yes, under NEM 3.0. Without a battery, your excess daytime production exports to the grid for very little credit. A battery stores that production for evening use (when grid power costs 3-4x more). It also gives you backup power during outages — a real consideration during fire-season PSPS shutoffs.
Will solar work on a tile roof common in Palos Verdes?
Yes. We use tile hooks (Quick Mount QBase Tile Hook or equivalent) that mount under the tiles without breaking them. We've installed solar on dozens of Spanish-tile and concrete-tile roofs across Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, and San Pedro.
How long does residential solar take?
Permit and design: 4-8 weeks (utility is the longest part). Install: 1-3 days on-site. Inspection and PTO: 2-6 weeks after install. Total: typically 8-14 weeks from contract signing to PTO.
Can you install solar with an EV charger at the same time?
Yes — and it's often the most cost-effective way to do both. Sharing the conduit run, sub-panel, and inverter electrical work saves significant labor. We've paired solar + EV chargers for hundreds of South Bay homeowners.
Are your solar installers licensed?
Yes. DECOMA holds CSLB Class A, Class B, C-10 (Electrical), and C-46 (Solar) licenses (#375508). All work is performed by licensed in-house installers — we don't sub out residential solar.
